Instructions for Using eDrawings

McNeilus Street Smart Parts offers complete 3D models of most parts we offer. Within the model is information that will assist you in ordering the correct part. View these edrawings with Internet Explorer 5.0 or later version. You will also need the Edrawings viewer which will install once you've selected a file.

You will only need to install once and it will take a couple minutes. In order to install, click on any file below, follow the installation steps by clicking yes, the file you selected should appear and edrawings will now be loaded. You do not need to reboot your computer. Once installed you can take a look at what Street Smart Parts is all about.

Below is a sample of a McNeilus Street Smart Parts edrawing. Shown is a Heil 5000 slide and sweep.
To access this, go to the Heil pull down menu on the assemblies page, click on Heil 5000 Slide Sweep Assembly.
If this is your first time veiwing an edrawing you will be prompted to install edrawings.

1. For optimum viewing, maximize the viewer box. The viewer is best used if your screen display settings are 1024 x 768 pixels. That should be the default, but can be changed:

a. To open up your screen size – It is recommended that you change the size of the eDrawings’s command icons. Look to the top of the eDrawings page, there should be a toolbar with “File,View, Animation,Tools,Window,Help”, in that order. Select “View”, then “Toolbars”, and then deselect “LargeButtons”. That will make your viewer screen open. The other commands previously listed will allow you to set up your eDrawings viewer, i.e., toolbars shown, background color, etc.
b. To open up your screen size - The file you’re viewing runs via your Internet Explorer® application, therefore you may see your “Favorites” box showing over on the left hand side of the screen. You should see a “Favorites” button towards the top of the screen (next to “Search”). Click the “ Favorites” icon and your favorites column will disappear and the eDrawings screen will become larger. Click it again and your “Favorites ” column will reappear. You can also grab onto the bar on the eDrawings screen (that runs vertical separating the drawing from the comment box) with your mouse and move it left or right.
c. To open up your screen size – Internet Explorer also has a full-screen option. To access, press F11 on your keyboard or “Full Screen” is located under “View” on your explorer toolbar

2. On the eDrawings viewer’s left hand side you will see a components and markup tab. The components tab will allow you to select a part on the screen and the part number will become highlighted on the left hand column. Under the “Markup” tab, comments will be listed on the left. Note that they will not appear until you click on the “Detail” note provided. Each note will contain highlights of a part that we feel to have special interests, either with a change in fabrication from the OEM, or a high-wear individual part. The parts indicated will include a brief description and part number.

3. On the top side of the viewer you will find zoom and view orientation icons. These are fairly self-explanatory. TIP: Pan work best while zooming in and out using the roller of your mouse.

4. You will also find your animation commands with “Previous, Next, Stop and Play”. The “Play” command will move into different views unassisted.

5. “Section, Move, and Measure” commands are as follows:

a. Clicking on “Section ”, a view plane will appear. Grab the plane with your mouse-controlled arrow and run it over the part [it cuts it].
b. “Move ” command will allow you to grab parts and individually move them or pull them away from the assembly. If parts become separated from the assembly, press the “Home ” command to reassemble the drawing.
c. “Measure ” command will not always be available.
